Seafarer crewing FAQs.
Does Foss Services charge seafarers a placement fee?
No. In accordance with MLC 2006 Regulation 1.4, Foss Services does not charge seafarers any placement or registration fee. All costs of our recruitment service are borne by the shipowner or ship manager.
What documents do seafarers need to register with Foss Services?
You will need a valid Seaman's Identity Document (SID), your STCW certificates (appropriate to your rank), a current seafarer medical fitness certificate, GMA endorsements and a recent updated CV. For FPSO or offshore roles, BOSIET/FOET certificates are also required.
Do you place Ghanaian seafarers on internationally flagged vessels?
Yes. We place Ghanaian seafarers on both Ghana-flagged and internationally flagged vessels, subject to GMA and flag-state documentation requirements. All international placements include a compliant Seafarer Employment Agreement (SEA) as required by MLC 2006.
